The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon (CCIA-BML), within the PRIME Project (Promoting Intergenerational Learning in Mediterranean Countries), organized between June and September 2015 a training and mentoring scheme. This activity aimed at helping participants become successful business entrepreneurs by transmitting to them core competences and skills from senior entrepreneurs as well as trainers. Thirteen junior entrepreneurs as well as five senior entrepreneurs actively participated in this training and mentoring scheme.

The first session took place on June 5, 2015 at the HIMO Goldsmith Factory, Beirut. The objective of this session was to provide junior entrepreneurs with an overview of the production processes implemented in a jewelry factory, and to mentor them about the carrier path. Junior entrepreneurs were given the opportunity to tour the factory’s facilities, including the production workshops, the creative department, and the marketing department. They were able to better understand how sales and trading work.

Further training and mentoring sessions covered themes related to the business plan, financing, e-commerce, and innovation. Participants were trained on how to write an effective business plan and how to prepare a financing request to help them secure the proper investment for future projects. They were introduced to e-commerce and the necessary tools required for online sales and website promotion. Advice on creative thinking was also given.
